Award Winning Australian Aboriginal Art
Leaves with Hands |
Gum leaf |
Artist, Tassie Terry is quite proud of her leaf art work & the awards she has won with it. Her paintings which have won prizes have all been sold. but she does have 2 example of her work still available for sale. Click to see the details in these. The Leaves are carefully pressed & dried, then glued with special paste to a backing. She then tells a story on each leaf using our ancient symbols. The results are stunning & a good conversation piece. Leaves with Hands is beautifully professional framed ( 51 x 42cm) with 3 mattings & would look good in most modern decors. Gum Leaf is quite a small piece (12cm x 17cm.) and can set on a table or be hung. Both come signed and with stories. An original & different idea!

Both are professional framed with an extensive story. Size =.29cm x 34cm each. Get yourself a very cheap award winning photo; or even the set!

Koori Forever wm |

The Wonder of Wax & Fire |
Koori Forever was runner-up in a poster competition about the meaning of being Aborginal today. It is full of meaning (read story). Later it was, by request, framed to be display in an exhibit dealing with fire. Acrylic paint on canvas, stretched & tastefully framed it measures 42 x 51cm or 16.5 x 20ins.
The Wonder of Wax & Fire is an interesting mixture of gloss acyrlic paint, encaustic painting & melted wax with a few gold flakes added. See story. of this 26.5 x 36in painting. This photo does not show the details or bright colours well. This may well be the only encaustic painting by an aboriginal in existance. A collectors piece!

In Memory of Simeon |
These 5 are all by artist Tassie Terry. She enjoys painting on paper because it reminds her of the bark her people painted on for milleniums, so seems more authentic than canvas. All are A4 in mainly watercolour with a little acyrlic paint used. All come with a signed with a story sometimes elaborate, of what inspired the paintings. Frame to match your decor. A cheap way to acquire an original work!
Read two of the stories that go with these paintings; Reconcilliation & In memory of Simeon, a grandson of the famous artist, Albert Namatjira & a friend of the artist. See examples of how this painting will look framed.
